Cultural journeys

Time with the people who call Tanzania home.

Overview

Tanzania is as rich in people as it is in wildlife. A cultural journey adds time with the communities who have lived in these landscapes for generations, from the Maasai of the northern plains to the Swahili world of the coast.

What the journey is like

We arrange unhurried, respectful visits: a morning with a Maasai family and their cattle, a walk with Hadza hunter-gatherers near Lake Eyasi, a slow wander through the spice markets and carved doorways of Stone Town. These are real encounters, arranged with care, not performances.

When to go

Cultural experiences are rewarding at any time of year and combine easily with a safari.
